Ownership Information

Date Aquired: Chirstmas 95? Previous Owner(s): None. Was new. Current Status: My workhorse Radio Satisfaction of Use: Very High

This is the first higher-powered radio, and the first radio I had that had access to the 440 mHz band. It is funny to me now, when I first got it, Houston seemed rather devoid of much radio traffic on 440, although at Baylor it is the primary repeater. Now that I am back in Houston, 440 seems more active than 2m. Is 2m finally lost its spark? This was a gift from my parents to me. I really can't remember, but I want to say it was the first Christmas after I got my license. As far as I can remember, this radio has AWLAYS been mounted in my truck. Those about the only constants in my life... a 2m/440mhz radio and a truck. Simplistic? Maybe. I still use a trusty radio-shack moblie mount antenna. Well, my original one finally died after an unfortant event with my lightbar, but trusty none the less. As for the radio itself, I don't think I'll ever be able to go back to a single-recieve radio. I too often want to listen to two conversations, or two reports. I don't know why. The thing that amazes me is that even after nearly 9 years of use, this radio is still as strong and faithful as it has always been. However, I did recently buy a new microphone for it, but that was my own fault.
